Nvidia’s AI Chip Revenue Forecast

Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has predicted that the company’s AI chip revenue will reach at least $1 trillion over the next two years. This forecast is driven by the growing demand for cloud computing and autonomous vehicles, with Nvidia’s GPUs and AI chips expected to play a crucial role in these emerging technologies.

Cloud Computing and Autonomous Vehicles

Huang highlighted the importance of cloud computing, stating that Nvidia’s GPUs are already the default compute engine for every major public-cloud AI service. He also emphasized the company’s role in autonomous vehicles, with Nvidia’s AI chips powering “physical AI such as robots and autonomous vehicles.” The company’s DRIVE platform is being used by dozens of OEMs to run perception, planning, and control workloads in-car.

Key Investments and Developments

Nvidia has made significant investments in recent years, including the $17 billion acquisition of Groq to strengthen “fast and cheap inference computing.” The company has also invested $2 billion each in Lumentum and Coherent to develop silicon-photonic links for high-throughput autonomous driving and cloud AI. Additionally, Nvidia has announced the upcoming “Feynman” AI processor, which will target both massive-scale cloud inference and low-latency compute for on-vehicle autonomous driving workloads.
